Ennis Rapidplay – 14th July

Ennis Chess Club are running a rapid play tournament next Saturday (14 July), in memory of Jim Hussey.  The event is in the Auburn Lodge Hotel (which is on the Galway side of Ennis),and will start at noon.  Games will be 20 minutes a side, but there will be a time handicap based on the players’ ratings: thus if you are much weaker than your opponent, you could have 36 minutes for all your moves, and your opponent only 4!

Entries can be taken on the day, but if you would like to get your entry in earlier that would be a help: contact John Cassidy (087 2495913).

There is an entry fee of €10 (€5 for juniors), and all money received will be returned in prize money.  (You can pay on arrival; don’t bother to send money in advance.)
