September Blitz results

Our first blitz tournament of the season continued the trend from the last Winter League: nobody wanted to win it!  We ended up with a five-way tie for first place, on 5 points out of 7, between newcomer Jonathan Melling, Jason Rawlinson, Brendan Buckley, Alex Drimbarean, and Pete Morriss.  For once, not a single game in the evening was drawn.

It was good to see some new people coming along to the club: we look forward to seeing you again in the coming weeks.

Next week (25 September) there is an “unstructured” evening: anyone can come along and play friendly games against others, at the time rate (if any) of their own choosing.  This would be a particularly good week for players new to club chess to come along and try out the club.
