Carlos allows seventh best player in the world to get away with a draw!

In the pre-Bunratty simul, Wesley So, currently rated number 7 in the world, beat all his other challengers, but met his match in Galway’s Carlos Silva, who was unlucky only to get a draw from the game after being clearly winning for most of it.  This is arguably the best result ever achieved by a Galway player.  Wesley So, originally from the Philippines but now playing for USA, is frequently tipped as a future World Champion, after having had a phenomenally successful year in 2014.  Predictions about Carlos’ future have been a bit more modest, but will have to be now drastically revised upwards.  The game is available here.
